Role Description
This opportunity is our first lawyer role to be advertised since launching the firm in 2024 and so, is one not to be missed.
Our co-founders, Michael Lazar (ex-Dentons and NAB) and AJ Sridaran (ex-Macquarie Bank and Dentons) have spent the last 6 months establishing the firm and are now looking to bring on a highly motivated lawyer to support the sustained growth of the firm.
Directly reporting to Michael and AJ, you will develop a desirable and substantive skillset in a thriving and growing firm, where hard work and excellence are rewarded.
Key responsibilities
As a lawyer at Hindsight Legal Advisers, you will do the following:
- Provide legal advice and guidance in areas of property law and banking/finance law, which includes both transactional and compliance/regulatory work
- Provide legal advice and guidance to retail customers navigating both simple and complex personal law matters, including acting for and advising customers on the purchase or sale of property throughout Australia
- Lead client files from end to end in accordance with our processes and systems
- Manage your workflow and calendar to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Liaise with clients, external solicitors, conveyancers, banks, finance brokers, government agencies, and regulators to ensure the legal process runs smoothly – when acting both in our capacity as lawyers for lenders and borrowers
- Complete settlements using the PEXA platform
- Maintain excellent file management, accuracy, and attention to detail in record keeping
- Keep clients and other stakeholders informed of developments and maintaining great communication throughout the process
- Provide team/office support as required, including assisting with team files, answering phones, and interacting with walk-in clients at reception
What we’re looking for
- Admission as a solicitor in Australia and you must hold a current NSW practising certificate
- Having at least a basic understanding in areas of banking, financial services and property law – either in a transactional role and/or compliance/reg advisory role
- Must have 1+ year(s) of experience of handling sale and purchase files of residential properties from end to end
- Must have a strong understanding of conveyancing practices and processes
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Proficient in Leap and PEXA
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a close-nit supportive environment
